Matt Hembree

Nobody knows that much about Matt Hembree. He plays the bass. He had to take this picture himself. His age is somewhere between 33 and 55. He grew up somewhere in the
northeast, maybe Kentucky, in a musical family that doubled as a bluegrass band.
He's been active on the Dallas/Ft. Worth club scene for many years
playing in such bands as Uncle Pete's Parade, Bindle, Drunken Monkey
and Goodwin.
An accomplished bassist with chops to spare and a keen ear for
harmonic invention,
Matt was tracked down by Kurt Rongey who needed a bassist to
round out The Underground Railroad. Matt quickly learned the material
that Rongey and Pohl had written and recorded the band's
debut "Through and Through" before regrettably bowing out to pursue a
future with Bindle, who were making a name for themselves at the time.
Now, three years later, Matt's back in The Underground Railroad as the band
is about to head into the studio to record their second album.
