Everyone, It is with deep regret that I must inform all of you that Cattle Prog II has been cancelled. Well, at least delayed. The November 15th date at the Eisemann, at least, is not going to happen. The web site will soon be updated to reflect this. The bottom line is that we were unable to get adequate funding from patrons or corporate sources to pay the up-front fees required for the venue, insurance, security, advertising and a number of other pricey items. Even if I was willing to gamble on adequate ticket sales to make up for it, the Eisemann policy is that we would not receive proceeds from ticket sales until about 2 weeks AFTER the event, but all costs must be payed a month in advance of the event. There's no way we were going to get that much money in time for the deadlines. However, I have some good news, at least for those of you who are local to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Bill Pohl has negotiated with the Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth to create a Progressive Rock night there. This is a really great, old art-deco building run by a couple of people who obviously do it for the love of the music. The first night for this will be October 5th, and will feature The Underground Railroad and 99 Names of God. I'll be posting future shows and further information on the GEPR and also on the dfwprog Yahoo group as plans are firmed up. Come on out and enjoy the shows! And drink lots of beer (within the legal limits of course!) so that it will be worth it to the Ridglea to keep having us back! Now, I said "Cancelled/Delayed" for a good reason. If we can muster up enough support in the DFW prog community via these Ridglea shows, we may be able to use them to rasie funds for a Cattle Prog II somewhere in the future. If this works out, we may yet try to do it. But for now, Cattle Prog II is not going to be happening. I invite comment from anybody. But be easy on me, OK? I'm already dejected enough about having to cancel this, you don't need to tell me I'm a flake. Any other thoughts or comments are invited. Lets all turn out for the Ridglea concerts!
